90s Fashion Trend Inspiration I’m a 90s kid through and through; I love my mom jeans, print shirts, oversized blazers… You name it, if it’s got a 90s fashion feel, you can definitely count me in. 90s fashion excites me. Growing up watching shows like the fresh prince of bel air and then re-watching it again as a teenager had a lot of influence on my personal style.
A Vintage Twist To Styling The Midi Pencil Skirt.
This will probably be one of the shortest style posts ever on this blog. Truth is, I sat with this one for a while and couldn’t quite figure out the angle to tackle this outfit post from. I struggled to come up with a post title and then afterward to figure out the accompanying words to go with the pictures. Putting together a style post really isn’t beans because of course we can’t just post the pictures and call it a day. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could though? Somedays, I sit through the brain block patiently going through the net sourcing for inspiration but other days (although rare), like today – I just decide to do this mini version of a word vomit sharing with you guys the struggle behind the scenes.
Outfit || Back To Vintage
I‘m slowly returning back to my retro roots so you might be seeing a bit more of vintage inspired outfits.I had to think for quite a while for a fitting title but couldn’t come up with any so I asked a couple of people what this look reminds them of, to try to come up with a title and all the replies I got back had ‘vintage’ in them. I was expecting someone to mention that I look like a school teacher though, because that’s what I see when I look at this. lol. That and vintage, of course. The vintage eras get a bit confusing to separate sometimes because some of these trends tend to spill over into the next era. I think this is a 90’s style – with the print blazer and pleated skirt. My stylist friend thinks its a mix of the 80’s and 90’s.
Outfit || The Pinafore Dress.
Pinafores reminds me instinctively of toddlers and junior secondary school. I still remember in horror, of the too long navy blue one of my junior secondary school days with the cream shirt and red ribbon. I couldn’t wait to finally get out of that and into my senior uniform of a skirt/shirt instead.I eventually did and couldn’t wait to get out of that either – Do we ever really get satisfied? But hey, it’s time to look past the traditional view of a pinafore that comes to mind and embrace the new modern and stylish flair of the pinafore dress, which is just too cool for school! (See what I did there? Lol)I particularly like how easy it is to wear, once you figure out what to wear underneath : which can be pretty much anything!
